~The girl who leapt trough time~時をかける少女

I've finish watching one of award-winning 2006 animated Japanese film,title is shown above.Based on the novel by Yasutaka Tsutsui

This is a story centered around a trio of friends (from left to right) Makoto Konno,
Chiaki Mamiya and Kousuke Tsuda.

The strange object. One day, while dropping off career surveys,
Makoto falls on a strange object which imprints a number on her arm.

Later that day she is involved in an accident that should have killed her, however,
something strange happened. Moments after the accident she was transported back
in time to before it occurred, effectively saving her life.Although initially skeptical about her newfound powers,
some terribly unscientific testing eventually confirms it, she can leap through time. Makoto is given the power to travel through time,
she uses the power to go back in time and change events that
would have otherwise caused her inconvenience.


At first it’s all fun and games, she uses her power to arrive school earlier,improve her grades,
read her friends’ baseball pitches and extend time at the karaoke box.
However, it soon becomes apparent that changing the past
has unpredictable and often catastrophic repercussions.

Later on in the series, we get to know that Makoto is in love with one of her fellow classmate Chaiki Mamiya (as shown above) but could not tell him. With the use of her power on herself and on other people, it changed for the worst. Not exactly what she had wanted, since disturbing what is in the past will disturb what is in the future.

One such incident caused the death of one of Makoto’s friend.


Right at the same time, she discovers that her ability to move through time is limited and not infinite. With a cry of sadness and remorse, she wanted to stop time. She wanted to stop it so badly.
So much so that time did stop. But who was it that stopped time ? As she herself had figure out that she herself had reached her limit.
It was the same guy whom she love that stop time. The same guy, whom she could not bring herself too. She learned that he is from a different era and had came back to view something important. Something that was lost in his era but was still around only at that particular time.

She then learn that now he could not go back to his own era and he will vanish without a trace tomorrow as he had use his last Timeleap.After that day,Chiaki vanish. Makoto in her bed later in the day discovered she had 1 more Timeleap charge. One more time to leap. And so she did.

She went back to the past to prevent him from using the last time charge so he can go back to his era.
After that everything is back to normal and Chiaki went back to the future.The end.
I gotta say this is an excellent show,the ending is awesome. The title is called Garnet and sang,written and compose by Hanako Oku.I recommend everyone to watch this.
